Lalit is a well sought after performer and educator of Indian Classical Music in the US. Hailing from a family of connoisseurs and performers of Indian Classical Music, Lalit grew up in Pune and received his initial Carnatic vocal training under Smt. Chitra Subramanian and Smt. He also did a short stint of Ghazal training under Ustad Anwar Qureshi.
Apart from vocal music, Lalit is also a percussionist and has studied Tabla with Pandit Anand Godse of Pune. Ramesh and grandnephew of maestro Guru Karaikudi R. Mani. His understanding of vocal music has a deep influence on his style of playing and is preferred by vocalists and instrumentalists alike for his sensitive support on percussion.
